ABOUT ME

Hello! My name is John Wheeldon, but my friends call me Mr. John. I’ve been a professional caricature artist for over fifteen years, getting my start at LEGOLAND CA, where I honed my craft by drawing numerous children and families. I have since worked at various events and gatherings across North San Diego County, making people laugh with my quick and cartoony art style. BOOKING INFO

I operate out of Escondido CA and can travel to any surrounding areas. I appreciate a two-week advanced scheduling notice but it is not required. If you need to hire someone at the last minute I will work with you or try to find another available artist instead. Let me know if you need more than one artist and I will accommodate you. When I show up I will provide the chairs, art supplies, paper and (if needed) additional light. All I need from you is adequate space to draw! The artwork itself is done on 11x16 cardstock paper and rubber bands are handed out to make for easy carrying, Also, I require a $100 deposit before booking an event which you can have refunded within thirty days of the event if it is canceled.

RATES & SERVICES

I charge $150 an hour with a 2 hour minimum- meaning the event should be at least two hours long.
The drawings I offer are hand drawn, black and white, and either head and shoulders or include a little outfit and background, such as princess or super heroes. There is no price difference between the two but keep in mind that the outfits take slightly longer. If you have several guests, you might consider sticking with head and shoulders.
I can draw approximately 12-15 people per hour with head and shoulders, and 10-12 with outfits.
I can fit up to five people on one drawing and I also draw dogs as well.
